Recycle Me! (Village Voice, February 9, 2011) The spirit 
We know the adage Notes: "Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything changes. The famous chemist was not yet light. He little suspected that his aphorism veer into categorical imperative and visual terrorism. Witness the recent fad of recycling that enchants the ecological-artistic souls. During the holidays, have you noticed these green octopus who occupied the peripheries of the Palais Royal with a force of dead algae? Christmas trees made of empty bottles were singing the praises of recycling smart and formal audacity. Similarly, the current exhibition "Rehab" at the Fondation EDF intends to cultivate the "double-size waste 'transfiguring fat old Kleenex and paper to extract the true substance of a committed art, citizen, and environmentally sensitive society. To protect the environment: mops, old hunks, and thus compete coprolites creative force. Nothing new, mind you, since the Toulouse-Lautrec painted precursor already with his seed. But now, genius is born in the bucket and mud are among the fine arts. Still, the ugliness, too, it pollutes ...
